A CELEBRATION OF WATERSLIDES, OXEN, AND A YOUNG WOMAN NAMED FLORINKA: One of the ways in which CBS is promoting the new (20th!) season of The Amazing Race, beginning Sunday night, is with an ad highlighting Great Freakouts in Race History.  There's a nice ten minute video someone's compiled from the first five years of racing, and I suspect many here have some favorites.

The only right answer to that question is "My ox is broken."

"My ox is broken" is the greatest freakout for sure but that 10 minute video reminded me how much I LOATHED Flo and loved Zach. I can't recall any other team where my feelings about the people on it were so diametrically split.

Fingers crossed for some great teams and great tasks this season. As a Big Brother viewer I can tell you that Brendan and Rachel make for compellingly hateable TV.

I own a "My Ox is Broken" T-shirt. I still wear it with pride, and I still get the occasional Race fan that recognizes it and says something like, "Colin. What a douchebag."

Not having ever watched more than a couple of minutes of AR, this is kind of fascinating out of context.  Why the Waffle House?  Why is he plowing with an ox?  Who's the whiner in the purple shirt with the really, really, REALLY understanding boyfriend/husband/partner?

I think the Flo/Zach breakdown was the very first episode of TAR I ever watched.
