A/K/A "OH NO SHE DIDN'T!": Congratulations to Beyoncé Knowles, Ali Larter and the creative team behind Obsessed for their win at the MTV Movie Awards last night for Best Fight. I haven't seen fit to talk about this film before, but if you're ever in the mood for a gleefully trashy, formulaic interracial remake of Fatal Attraction -- with Stringer Bell in the Michael Douglas role -- by all means, catch this film during its infinite replays on cable. It is a hoot.

[Apparently, either Twilight or Anna Kendrick won every other award presented.]

  1. Don't forget Ken Jeong's penis, which also won an award.  And I'm glad to see Amanda Seyfried's "Jennifer's Body" performance get some recognition--it's actually a surprisingly good perfomance.  (Though how did "New Moon" not have a villain suitable for nomination in that category?)

Seyfried was the only thing making Jennifer's Body watchable; I wanted to see a movie about her character while everyone else was tossed into a volcano.  With napalm.  And acid.

(Not that I, you know, hated the movie or anything.)

I walked into the screening of "Obsessed" with an IQ of 130 and left with an IQ of 90. Meaning that every two minutes I lost an intelligence point. The MPAA should institute a new parental warning: Exposure to Ali Larter is dangerous to your mental aptitude.

I cannot believe I am admitting of knowledge enough to explain that New Moon really doesn't have a villain.  The bad Italian vampires make a small appearance but there are a bunch of them and they aren't THAT villainous.  Most of the movie revolves around Bella befriending/falling for werewolves as she recovers from her vampire leaving her because it would be easier for her to get that they shouldn't be together and break up if he just randomly left without telling her.  She takes it poorly.

I wholeheartedly agree that Obsessed is a total hoot.  It's one of those "so bad it's good" ones, and hey - you gotta root for a movie where all the women want to be with Stringer Bell, because, come on, who doesn't?

Haha - thanks!  Stringer Bell's hotness deserves all the credit it can get.
