YES, THE WHITE FLAG MAKES A CAMEO: Sure, to our generation the words "US Festival" get grouped with events like the Knoxville World's Fair in evoking a vague sense of yeah, that was that thing in the early 1980s that sucked, right? But VH-1 Classic has dusted off some footage this weekend (and of course is re-airing occasionally), so if you wanted to a 1983 bill that wedged in between Missing Persons and Quarterflash on "Rock Day some solid early U2 (how early? try "Bono in frosted mullet, and The Edge had hair" early), now's your chance.

Of more interest to Isaac will be that Van Halen's show-closing set from the night before -- an appearance for which Steve Wozniak paid them $1.5 million -- is also all online, including David Lee Roth calling out ... The Clash?
