A STRONG, CLEAR VISION: This Veterans' Day marks the 25th anniversary of the official dedication and opening of Maya Lin's Vietnam Veterans Memorial. For all the controversy that accompanied the initial selection of the design and such, the Memorial seems now to have become one of the few universally acclaimed pieces of contemporary American architecture, and (at least in my view) is perhaps the most effective of the monuments and memorials in the DC area in conveying a complicated and emotionally complex issue.
